Record Functions

Normal Recording

Normal (continuous) recording allows the Smart Black box to record every second it is powered on. The shock sensor and pushing the "record" button will still flag video files for easy retrieval. Video files are broken up in 10 minute increments (may be smaller). Note: a maximum of 15 FPS is allowed for Normal Recording mode. Amount of data you will be able to store on your SD card depends on many factors, including: Selected frame rate, resolution, recording quality, time of day (nighttime takes up more storage), and the size of your SD card. The Smart Black Box has been fully tested up to 32GB Class 6 SDHC. Click Here for a complete storage time table.

Event Recording

Event recording will be automatically started by upon impact via the internal 3-axis shock sensor or via manually pressing the red "record button" on the back side of the unit. The shock sensor sensitivity can be adjusted using the playback analysis software. Each event file contains video footage prior to the impact (Pre-record) and video footage beyond the moment of impact (Post-record). The amount of Pre & Post recording time is adjustable up to 20 Seconds pre-record and 15 seconds post record (The maximum video file is 30 Seconds at 15 FPS and 20 Seconds at 30 FPS).
